We regret to inform everyone that our anticipated start date of July 13th is being postponed. We were informed late Friday by a couple of our Host Locations that were worried and concerned that there could be an issue with the use of Pool Tables from conversations they had had with local officials. It was enough of a concern that that we had to take it seriously and look into this possible issue. We are adamant that the safety and well-being of our members is one of our highest priorities. An equal and as important priority for us is the well-being and safety of our Host Locations and Staff. After conversations between yesterday and today with both the SLA (State Liquor Board Authority) and the Governor’s office, we were informed that the use of pool tables is strictly prohibited and that Billiards Leagues absolutely could not start at this time.

With this new information directly from both the SLA & Governor’s office we were left with no other choice but to shut down our plan for restarting League Play. It also means the immediate suspension of both Masters & Jack & Jill Play. We want to apologize to both our Members & Host Locations for this dramatic change in events. Despite what our personal beliefs may or may not be in regards to the current situation or what other leagues or locations may or may not be doing, we will not risk the integrity of our APA brand, the safety of our members or be complicit in putting our Host Locations who support our League in a situation where they could get cited, seriously fined or shut down due to us ignoring the mandates and executive orders that we were informed of over the last two days.

This is not the direction we believed we were headed and a complete 180 from what we were informed of last week. However as we said in our original release, these are unpresented times and things can change from day to day. We also have no clear-cut guidance on when the restrictions on the use of Billiards Tables and League Play will subside. We are going to do our best to continue to communicate with our Local, State & Health Officials in the hopes of getting some guidance to share with everyone. We do not have a restart date at this time to be able to share but ask that you all please be patient with us as we work through these trying times in our search of getting the guidance and questions answered that we are all looking for.
